If your receipt printer has stopped working, you may be able to fix the issue by using some of the tips below.

  1. Check that the printer is still showing as a printer in Windows settings. (Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners). If it isn't then you may need to reinstall the printer.
    - If you are installing/reinstalling a driver, it is recommended that you unplug the printer's USB cable from the computer and switch off the printer before starting the install. You will be asked to reconnect it during the install.
  2. Check that there is nothing stuck in the print queue that could be preventing new labels from printing.
    - In Windows, navigate to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, click on the printer > Open Queue.
    - To clear the queue, select Printer > Cancel all documents.
  3. Check that you can print a test page from the printer in your Windows settings (Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, click on the printer > Manage > Print a test page).
  4. Check that the printer device is registered in i-Clarity. (You will need full Maintenance access for this).
    - Navigate to Maintenance > Branch & System > Devices.
    - Look for the receipt printer in the grid. It should look something like this -

    - If it is listed, check that the computer name matches your computer name. (You can check the name of your computer in Settings > System > About).
    - If the receipt printer isn't listed, you can add it at the bottom of the screen.

    - Navigate to Maintenance > Branch & System > Computers. Locate your computer name in the grid and select the receipt printer from the dropdown list of the POS Printer column. Click away from the row to save your changes. Exit Maintenance and perform a test print.
