If you navigate to Maintenance, Branch & System and then system parameters, there is a checkbox under 'Editing and Warnings' called 'Warn if Editing Old Record'. If you tick this checkbox, when you try to edit an old record, you will receive a warning message. If you leave this unticked, you will not receive a warning when you edit an existing record.
